Kanbrick, a long-term investment partnership focused on investing in and building founder- and family-owned businesses, has announced a strategic partnership with Laboratory Testing Inc. (LTI), a leading provider of materials testing and calibration services for mission-critical industries. The acquisition will see Kanbrick partner with the current owners, the McVaugh and Hiller families, to accelerate the growth of LTI and further expand its service offerings.
Founded in 1984 by Bob McVaugh, LTI has built a strong reputation for delivering high-quality, error-free materials testing services across key sectors, including aerospace, space, defense, and power generation. For over 40 years, LTI has served its clients with comprehensive and on-time testing services, providing peace of mind to customers operating in some of the most demanding industries.
“We’re excited to partner with Kanbrick to continue our growth as we set out to become the leading provider of materials testing and calibration services,” said Brandon McVaugh, CEO of LTI. “Kanbrick’s focus on partnering with family-owned businesses and creating long-term value makes them the ideal fit for our business. This partnership will support LTI’s plans to serve even more customers while honoring our 40-year legacy and company values.”
Today, LTI is a third-generation family business based in Hatfield, Pennsylvania, and supports over 2,000 customers across the United States. The company has continually expanded its capabilities and service offerings, including strategic acquisitions such as Fracture Technology Associates (FTA) in 2017. This acquisition strengthened LTI’s position in fatigue crack growth and fracture toughness software and hardware systems.
“LTI is a remarkable company with a long-standing reputation for excellence in serving mission-critical industries,” said Tracy Britt Cool, Co-Founder of Kanbrick. “The company has continued to innovate and diversify over the years, delivering consistent growth. We’re proud to partner with the LTI team to build on this success for the long term.”
Through this partnership, the Kanbrick team will collaborate closely with CEO Brandon McVaugh and the LTI leadership team to expand the company’s capabilities, enter new markets, and continue providing high-quality destructive and nondestructive testing and calibration services.
This acquisition marks an exciting chapter for LTI as it partners with Kanbrick to take the company to new heights while continuing to honor its legacy of excellence in materials testing.
