Matter Lab, the largest and most advanced quality testing laboratory in South India, has achieved a significant milestone with the expansion of its NABL (National Accreditation Board for Testing and Calibration Laboratories) accreditation scope. Originally accredited for 100 tests, the lab’s accreditation has now been extended to cover nearly 1,000 tests, significantly broadening its service offering and reinforcing its position as a leader in the field of materials testing.
Launched in 2022 as an initiative of the Uralungal Labour Contract Cooperative Society (ULCCS), Matter Lab is now one of the most modern testing facilities in the region, recognized for its high standards and commitment to delivering precise, reliable, and efficient results. The expanded accreditation scope allows the lab to offer a wider array of testing services to clients, ensuring greater accuracy and reliability in its results across a range of materials.
The accreditation, based on the rigorous ISO/IEC 17025:2017 standard, ensures that Matter Lab adheres to the highest levels of impartiality, confidentiality, and integrity. The lab’s commitment to maintaining unbiased testing practices and transparent reporting has further cemented its reputation as a trusted provider of materials testing solutions.
A Comprehensive Range of Accredited Services
Matter Lab’s expanded testing capabilities now cover a diverse range of materials including soil, rocks, aggregates, cement, steel, concrete, ceramics, timber, water, natural stones (granite, marble), and more. This includes specialized geotechnical tests such as Standard Penetration Tests (SPT), TRL Dynamic Cone Penetrometer (DCP) Testing, Plate Bearing Tests, and advanced Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) methods like Ultrasonic Pulse Velocity, Rebound Hammer, and Ground Penetrating Radar (GPR) scanning for concrete structural health monitoring.
Moreover, Matter Lab holds the distinction of being the only NABL-accredited laboratory in Kerala for concrete and asphalt mix designs, concrete durability tests, and stabilized soil testing. The laboratory is also accredited for water analysis services, addressing drinking water, construction water, and environmental concerns. Additionally, the lab conducts chemical analysis for materials like steel, cement, and aggregates, further extending its expertise in supporting critical infrastructure projects.
