Venterra Group Plc, a leader in offshore wind services, has announced the acquisition of Oceanscan Holdings Limited, a key provider of subsea and non-destructive testing (NDT) equipment. Oceanscan’s addition bolsters Venterra’s geotechnical capabilities and positions the company at the forefront of offshore sensing technology, aligning with its strategic goals for global expansion in offshore wind.
Founded in 1989, Oceanscan operates out of Aberdeen with subsidiaries in Houston and Singapore, providing services like hydrographic survey, ROV sensor rentals, and NDT equipment calibration. It specializes in geophysical surveys and pre-construction activities for renewable energy projects, particularly offshore wind farms.
The acquisition strengthens Venterra’s Geoscience and Survey teams, already supported by industry leaders such as Ordtek, Partrac, and Gavin & Doherty Geosolutions. Oceanscan’s cutting-edge equipment and deep technical knowledge will help Venterra offer one of the most comprehensive survey services available in the offshore market.
