Waygate Technologies, a Baker Hughes business and leader in nondestructive testing (NDT) solutions, has announced the release of the DXR Flex, a breakthrough bendable digital X-ray detector. Engineered to replace traditional X-ray film, the DXR Flex is designed to streamline field inspections across a wide range of industries, including oil and gas, power generation, chemicals, aviation, and space exploration.
The DXR Flex introduces significant advancements in efficiency and image quality for radiographic inspections. Capable of encircling round objects as small as 150mm (6”) in diameter, it covers larger weld areas than rigid flat panel detectors, reducing the number of exposures required by up to 65%. This leads to faster inspections, reduced setup time, and minimized asset downtime, providing a more efficient solution for industrial inspections.
With dual-sided exposure capability, the DXR Flex is well-suited for the double-wall double-image (DW-DI) technique used in small pipe inspections. The detector integrates seamlessly with Waygate Technologies' Rhythm Insight software and Flash! image enhancement platform, delivering unmatched image clarity and precision in weld inspections.
Built for durability, the DXR Flex is equipped with IP67 ingress protection, making it waterproof and dust-resistant. Its rugged case is designed to withstand radiation, knocks, and drops, ensuring long-term reliability even in the harshest conditions. The detector can be used both wired and wirelessly, with a battery-powered operation that allows instant transmission of images to laptops for faster results and reporting.
The DXR Flex is available for order now.
