Transportation Oil & Gas Congress 2023 was held in cooperation with BOTAŞ - a key player in O&G transportation that hosts some of the most complex energy projects in the world: Southern Gas Corridor and TANAP. TOGC 2023 took place in Istanbul, Türkiye, on February, 20-22, and gathered leading oil & gas majors.
TOGC 2023 is a closed-door networking-oriented Congress, focused on both strategic and technical issues of the pipeline transportation of oil, gas, and hydrogen. Every year the Congress gathers leading pipeline operators, national oil and gas companies, EPC contractors, solutions and service providers to discuss the current state of the market and share ideas on the future development.
TOGC 2023 started with the opening panel dedicated to recent pipeline projects: construction and commissioning challenges. The delegates from BOTAŞ, AVEVA, Petro IT Global FZ, TANAP, Energinet and Moldovagaz discussed construction in 2019-2023 and during pandemic times, prices fluctuation and influence on the market, and commissioning challenges. The first day of the Congress comprised sessions and panels regarding H2 in gas grid, cases of H2 implementation, pipeline integrity: design and construction stages, maintenance and repair stages.
The day was closed by the gala dinner on a sea trip along the Bosphorus where the participants continued communication with other companies. Delegates enjoyed the views of Istanbul at night and the sights along the waterway.
The second day of the Congress covered topics of the role of pipelines in the sustainable future, digital transformation and optimization, reaching cost efficiency in pipeline economics, old and new risks of pipeline security. The day concluded with speakers from ASELSAN, Thyssengas, Waterfall Security Solutions, TANAP and BOTAŞ discussing old and new risks in pipeline security including drones attacks, illegal tapping, 3rd party damage and other.
For day 3 of the Congress, BOTAŞ invited a limited number of industry professionals to visit Europe's largest storage facility in the seas - the Silivri Underground Natural Gas Storage Facility. Recently the capacity of the facility was increased twice. The facility, which meets all of its electricity needs with a wind turbine with an installed power of 4.2 megawatts, also stands out as the first facility in Türkiye to receive a carbon footprint certificate.
The next edition of the Transportation Oil & Gas Congress is going to take place in Italy on February, 19-20, 2024. Be ready to lead the oil & gas energy sector with key players next year! Get more information: https://sh.bgs.group/hc
